Unlike a lot of Coaches, I haven't always loved training and playing sports. I joined a couple of teams at school but I never felt I was really good enough so eventually lost interest in carrying on. I understand that feeling of hating going to the gym, not having a clue what you're doing and feeling like you're getting nowhere so "what's the point?"
After deciding to start training to get fitter again after uni, I found I loved learning about fitness and wanted to make myself healthier and stronger. I love finding out what my body is capable of when I try and I'd love to share that feeling with anyone who can relate to how I used to feel. Now I'm enjoying challenging myself for competitions in Olympic Weightlifting and powerlifting.
I want to help people build their confidence and fall in love with fitness and have the knowledge to train without the need for a coach.
In addition to teaching olympic weightlifting and powerlifitng, Alex also works as a musculoskeletal therapist within the NHS.

From an early age I have always been interested in sport but anxieties and the fears of not winning always held me back from competing. I decided that never again would I let this affect anyone I trained and my aim is to make everyone feel at home, safe and confident in the gym especially those that are new!
My aim is to give you more than a personal trainer but rather a coach, if you take sessions with me you will learning on every step of the way.
I continue to train in competitions across the country in weightlifting and powerlifting and I aim to help pass this knowledge and help every member at the club!
In addition to offering strength coaching, Jake also works within football as a sport rehabilitator with Burnley football club.
